CATHOLICS BELIEVE THAT WORSHIP IS DUE TO GOD ALONE. Catholics do, however, venerate Mary. In other words, we HONOR OUR BLESSED MOTHER with great reverence and devotion BECAUSE SHE IS THE MOTHER OF GOD.
Mary is the most beautiful model of total submission to the will of God. CATHOLICS DO NOT VIEW MARY AS EQUAL TO CHRIST, BUT RATHER venerate Mary because of her relationship to Christ.
The Catechism of the Catholic Church explains, “MARY’S ROLE IN THE CHURCH IS INSEPARABLE FROM HER UNION WITH CHRIST AND FLOWS DIRECTLY FROM IT” (page 964)

PRAYER: Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus,
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen
Note: you will notice that the first half of this prayer is from the bible, the words Elizabeth spoke to Mary when John jumped in her womb. The Hail Mary is one of the prayers said on the Rosary beads, along with the Our Father, the I believe in God and the Glory Be to the Father.
