PRO LIFE -MARCH FOR LIFE

FROM CONCEPTION TO NATURAL DEATH IS THE CRY OF EVERY CATHOLIC AND HOPEFULLY EVERY CHRISTIAN.

THE MARCH FOR LIFE ON FRIDAY, JAN 28, 2017 WAS AGAIN VERY SUCCESSFUL AND VERY ENERGETIC. FOR THE FIRST TIME IN THE ENTIRE 44 YEARS OF THE MARCH, SINCE THE YEAR AFTER ROE VS WADE WAS PASSED THE VICE PRESIDENT OF THE U.S. SPOKE FROM THE STAGE. I DIDN’T HEAR HOW MANY WERE THERE, IT REALLY DOESN’T MATER, THEY MADE THEIR POINT. AND THERE WERE CHILDREN, TEENS, AND ALL AGES OF ADULTS. THERE ARE MORE EVERY YEARS AND THEY COME FROM EVERYWHERE. FOR THE FIRST TIME IN A LONG TIME, THE PRESIDENT AND VICE PRESIDENT ARE PRO LIFE.

A NEW SLOGAN:  ADOPTION NOT ABORTION.

IF ANYONE READING THIS NEEDS HELP OR KNOWS OF SOMEONE THAT NEEDS HELP TELL THEM TO CALL CATHOLIC CHARITIES. They are listed in the phone book. They will have names and addresses of safe places to go for help.  Most neighborhood clinics will have names and addresses.   There are places to get free mammograms. There are places to get free birth control and there are places that will help women to keep their babies, finish school, get a job, or help them put their babies up for adoption. They do not need Planned Parenthood.   I thought the meditation  and prayer below  from the  book: THE MESSAGE OF FATIMA apply.

JESUS, HAVING CONQUERED LIFE WITH DEATH AND SIN WITH LOVE ,appears to the women and his followers at various times and in various ways to deliver a PRO LIFE MESSAGE that goes beyond what this finite existence is able to contain.  Christ’s power is over life and death in this world and in the next!  LOVE is more powerful than death;  LIFE reaches beyond the grave for those who believe. Suffering has saving power.  Penance, and remission of sins in Christ, saves souls.

———————-PRAYER————————–

OH MARY, MOTHER OF THE LIFE WITHIN,  ALL LIFE WE ENTRUST TO YOU: THE LIFE OF EVERY EXPECTANT MOTHER, AND THE CHILD WITHING HER WOMB, THE LIFE OF EVERY HUMAN BODY, THE LIFE OF EVERY HUMAN SOUL, THE LIFE OF EVERY NEWBORN CHILD AND THE LIFE OF ALL GROWN OLD. YOU HELD THE LORD TO YOUR OWN HEART AND DREW HIM SO CLOSE IN.  SO DRAW US NOW IN ALL OUR NEEDS, OH MOTHER OF THE LIFE WITHIN.

PRAYER FOR THANKGIVING

Tobit 12:6: THANK GOD! Give him the praise and the glory.  Before all the living, acknowledge the many good things he has done for you, by blessing and extolling His name in song.  Before all men, honor and proclaim God’s deeds, and do not be slack in praising him.

HYMN:

NOW thank we all our God, with heart and hands and voices,

Who wondrous things has done, in whom this world rejoices;

Who from our mother’s arms has blessed us on our way

With countless gifts of love, and still is ours today.

GOD BLESS YOU ALL AND HAPPY THANKSGIVING.

MEDITATION OF THE DAY-WHY THOSE WHO DO THE FATHER’S WILL…

WHY THOSE WHO DO THE FATHER’S WILL ARE JESUS’ MOTHER AND BROTHERS

The first lesson us by Paul is that we are called to the grace of baptism not because of the merits of our good works but solely because of the goodness of God, NOT BECAUSE OF ANY RIGHTEOUS DEEDS WE HAD DONE BUT BECAUSE OF HIS MERCY…Peter and Andrew are called, not from the Temple where they were praying or sacrificing or engaging in works of piety and mercy and love, but called from the sea where they were rowing and diligently plying their trade of catching fish. Fishing requires no special kind of lowliness and virtue.

Moreover, Paul tells us that in baptism a regeneration and renovation takes place through THE BATH OF REBIRTH AND RENEWAL BY THE HOLY SPIRIT, which makes us very like to Christ in our life, our conduct, and our works, because it was to this that we have been predestined.  Consequently, he writes to the Galatians: ALL OF YOU WHO ARE BAPTIZED INTO CHRIST HAVE CLOTHED YOURSELVES WITH CHRIST. To clothe oneself with Christ, however, means to reflect Christ and make him visible in our life and conduct…

If the virtue and righteousness and holiness of the Apostles and all the saints is merely imaginary, does that mean that Christ is, therefore, merely an imaginary Redeemer and Savior?  That Adam and Satan had much more power to destroy than Christ and God have to save?  If the power of the Holy Spirit in the Apostles was only imaginary, how were they able to perform real works of virtue? Can an imaginary or a painted tree bear real fruits?… These are fruits that were truly present in the Apostles… The Apostles and countless martyrs have already laid down their lives for Christ and suffered cruel torments for the sake of righteousness with great patience and strength of soul and constancy and, even more, with love and a spirit of joy…and with a great desire to suffer even much more.

Saint Lawrence of Brindisi.(1697) was minister general of the Capuchins.(Magnificat)

KNOW YOUR WORTH

OK, LADIES, FROM OUR CHURCH BULLETIN:    PROVERBS:::::: I’m here to simply be a messenger from the ONE who created you and I.  God told us that HIS DAUGHTERS are “MORE PRECIOUS THAN JEWELS; And nothing you desire compares with her” {Proverbs 3:15)

NOW THIS APPLIES TO MEN AND WOMEN:

“When you feel unworthy of love, it’s the devil who is putting that thought in your head.  He can tug at your heart strings and make you feel so unworthy, when in reality you’re the most precious thing on this earth!  Satan is at work when you look in the mirror and all you hear is, “you’re not good enough.” But fear not because it’s simply not true!” (quoted from my church bulletin}

There is something I want to add, ladies and gentlemen.  You are made in the image and likes of God. He is with you and in you at all times.  When we talk about love, we are not talking about sex.  Some people now days equate one with the other.  Love is when someone cares more for you than they do for themselves.  Love is like Jesus Christ loves His Church.  Friendship comes before love.  Love comes before marriage and in the old song from the 40’s I think, “First come love, than marriage, then the baby carriage.”  I know this sounds old fashioned, but it has worked well for centuries.  Get to know a person as a friend (this does not include sex, sex clouds the issue of friendship) then if the magic is there, then love will develop.

When you find a person, who you enjoy being with, who enjoys just being with you, BECAUSE YOU ARE YOU, YOU ARE INTERESTING AND FUN, AND FOR NO OTHER REASON EXCEPT THAT PERSON IS HAPPY WITH YOU AND YOU WITH THAT PERSON, then consider that maybe you have found love, maybe even the love of your life.  Then when you have sex, that person will be making love with you, that is a big WITH, not to you.

REMEMBER YOU ARE WORTHY OF TRUE LOVE, AND YOU ARE WORTHY OF MANY TRUE FRIENDSHIPS.  Don’t waste your time with people who only care about you because of sex,  find someone who will give his or her life for you.  That cannot happen if you are not open to friendship because you are tied up with someone who cannot love you the way you deserve.  Remember, especially Ladies You are more precious than jewels, be sure you are being treated that way.

GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

EPIPHANY GRACES

Note: I post these religious pages under Religious Freedom because in some countries, I would not be posting this.

WHAT OTHER REWARD CAN GOD GIVE TO THOSE WHO SEEK HIM, IF NOT to let himself be found?  Religious man strives to see signs of God in the daily experiences of life, in the cycle of the season, in the fruitfulness of the earth and in the movement of the cosmos.  God is light and he can be found also by those who seek with a sincere heart.

An image of this seeking can be seen in the Magi, who were led to Bethlehem by the star (Mt.2:1-12). For them God’s light appeared as a journey to be undertaken, a star which led them on a path of discovery.  The star is a sign of God’s patience with our eyes which need to grow accustomed to his brightness.  Religious man is a wayfarer; he must be ready to let himself be led, to come out of himself and to find the God of perpetual surprises.  This respect on God’s part for our human eyes shows us that when we draw near to God, our human lights are not dissolved in the immensity of his light, as a star is engulfed by the dawn, but shine all the more brightly the closer they approach the primordial fire, like a mirror which reflects light.  Christian faith in Jesus, the one Savior of the world, proclaims that all God’s light is concentrated in him, in his “luminous life” which discloses the origin and the end of history.  There is no human experience, no journey of man to God, which cannot be taken up, illumined, and purified by this light.  The more Christians immerse themselves in the circle of Christ’s light, the more capable they become of understanding and accompanying the path of every man and woman towards God.

Because faith is a way, it also has to do with the lives of those men and women who, though not believers, nonetheless desire to believe and continue to seek.  To the extent that they are sincerely open to love and set out with whatever light they can find, they are already, even without knowing it, on the path leading to faith.  They strive to act as if God existed, at times because they realize how important he is for finding a sure compass for our life in common or because they experience a desire for light amid darkness, but also because in perceiving life’s grandeur and beauty they intuit that the presence of God would make it all the more beautiful. by Pope Francis.

THE MOST HOLY NAME OF JESUS

Today the Church celebrates the Most Holy Name of Jesus.  It is the last day of Christmas before Sunday, when we celebrate the Epiphany. Which is when we celebrate the day the three kings brought gifts to Jesus.  In some parts of the Christian world, kids receive their gifts on this day.

THE LORD JESUS PROMISED, “Whatever you ask in my name, I will do” (Jn 14:13) “You have had yourselves washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Cor 6:11) For there is no “other name under heaven given to the human race by which we are to be saved” (Acts 4:12).  This memorial provides us the chance to live with special attentiveness before the Holy Name. “If you think the name”Jesus” continually, it purges your sin and kindles your heard; it clarifies your soul, it removes anger and does awy with slowness.  It wounds in love and fulfills charity.  It chases the devil and puts out dread.  It opens heaven, and makes you a contemplative.  It puts all vices and phantoms out from the lover: (Richard Rolle).

AS THE POPULAR CHRISTIAN SONG SAYS:  “Just say JESUS”

ADVENT, 2nd week

POEM; So lately sprung from glory,
a shepherd seeks His sheep
Across a desert country
Through lonely rocks and steep.
A rumor fills the valleys;
Glad tidings sweep the plain;
Good news comes from the mountains:
God’s Christ has come to reign.

How beautiful His footsteps
Upon the mountainside.
The King comes for His kingdom,
The Bridegroom for His bride.
How radiant His aspect!
How steady is His gaze!
How silent all rebellion!
How loud the angels’ praise!

from: MAAGNIFICAT

PRAYER: GOD OUR FATHER, you sent your Son to lead us in the way of life. As we look forward to his coming in glory, renew our desire to follow in his footsteps, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

ADVENT

CHRISTMAS IS ALMOST HERE AND WE MUST GET READY. IF WE KNEW JESUS WAS COMING TO OUR HOUSE TO VISIT ON CHRISTMAS EVE, WHAT WOULD WE DO DIFFERENT?
ADVENT. THIS IS A WAY TO PREPARE OUR SOULS FOR JESUS BIRTH, WHAT CAN WE DO DIFFERENT DURING THE NEXT 4 WEEKS. PRAY? BE MORE FORGIVING? GENEROUS? KIND? Just asking, it is up to all of you to decide for yourselves, how to get ready.

1. SUNDAY, NOV. 30 was the 1st Sunday of Advent.
2. SUNDAY, DEC. 2 was the 2nd Sunday.
At a certain point in life, the profound desires and cravings of our heart reach a point of eruption in us. Yet at the same time comes the awareness that we cannot bring about what we want-we do not have inside us what is needed to fulfill and satisfy our longings. And so, with our infinite yearnings we turn to the Infinite and cry, “Oh, that you would rend the heavens and come down.” Our experience of helplessness before the fact of our boundless human need moves us to ask for fellowship with God’s Son, Jesus Christ the Lord. The nature of our desire assures us as we enter into ADVENT that we are not lacking in any spiritual gift as we wait for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ. “The Lord of the house is coming.” “Be watchful! Be alert!” (Magnificat.)

Read the CANTICLE OF TOBIT 13:1-6
PRAYER: Lord Jesus Christ, you are with us always, even to the end of the world, yet we do not always know your presence. Free us from whatever hinders you from taking full possession of our inner house and our outer world by the power of your Spirit, you who live and reign for ever and ever. Amen

TRUE HUMAN DIGNITY MEANS RESPECT FOR ALL HUMAN LIFE

BEFORE I MENTION ANYTHING ELSE, PLEASE GO VOTE BUT BEFORE YOU DO, LOOK UP THE CANDIDATES PERSONAL MORALS AND OPINIONS AND ON THE BALLOT QUESTIONS BE SURE TO LOOK UP WHAT YOU ARE ACTUALLY VOTING FOR. BE SURE THE CANDIDATE RESPECTS ALL LIFE, FROM CONCEPTION TO DEATH. BE SURE HE/SHE DID NOT VOTE OR TALK ABOUT APPROVING ASSISTED SUISIDE, PRO CHOICE, EUTHANASIA OR ANY OTHER KIND OF DISRESPECT FOR HUMAN LIFE AND DIGNITY. BE SURE THE QUESTIONS AREN’T GIVING THE STATE PERMISSION TO DO SOMETHING YOU DON’T APPROVE OF, FOR INSTANCE, WHAT ARE THE BOND ISSUES FOR? BE SURE YOU DO VOTE TO THE BEST OF YOUR ABILITY AND LEARN FROM YOUR MISTAKES. REMEMBER, YOU WILL BE VOTING ALL YOUR LIFE.

THE Catholic Church is well know for being “pro-life” However, we are not just talking about contraception and abortion. We believe GOD ALOONE IS THE LORD OVER LIFE AND DEATH.
Human life is sacred because from its beginning it involves the creative action of God and it remains for ever in a special relationship with the Creator, who is its sole end. (catechism 2258)
God not only created us in his divine image (see Genesis 1:27), God also loves us profoundly. God’s plan offers us an eternal destiny. That love is made tangible in the Son of God, Jesus, who took on human flesh to bring us salvation through his life, death, and Resurrection. Thanks to Jesus Christ, we can become children of God.

Created in the image of the one God and equally endowed with rational souls, all men have the same nature and the same origin. Redeemed by the sacrifice of Christ, all are called to participate in the same divine beatitude: all therefore enjoy an equal dignity. (Catechism 1934)

The equality of men rests essentially on their dignity as persons and the rights the flow from it. (Catechism 1935)

God’s Fifth Commandment should not be taken for granted. After all, it was given to us by the God of love, the Author of life: “You shall not kill” (Exodus 20:13 and Deuteronomy 5:17). This command of God is a broad ban on killing human persons. Direct involvement or acting as an accomplice in a murder, suicide, abortion, or euthanasia, is forbidden. Further, while legitimate self-defense is excusable, the killing and maiming of unarmed civilians in wartime is not (see Catechism 2259-2283)
This right to life ethos extends to the spiritual and physical welfare of persons. On the spiritual side, we must care for the souls of others. We must not scandalize people or lead them to do evil.
Scandal takes on a particular gravity by reason of the authority of those who cause it or the weakness of those who are scandalized. It prompted our Lord to utter this curse: “Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea.”(Matt 18:6)Catechism 2285)

We must protect people from bodily harm through illicit scientific research or experimental practices that disregard the bodily integrity of a person. This protection extends to crime as well: kidnapping, hostage taking, terrorism, violence, torture, and violations or abuse against another’s body.(Catechism 2292-2298)

Concern for the physical welfare of persons equals respecting the health or other persons-treating it as a gift. This includes making sure people have sufficient food, housing, clothing, health care, basic education, employment or social assistance. It assures care for the sick, disabled, and elderly. It also protects people from the abuses of alcohol, drugs, and human trafficking. Any harmful endangerments to the human person must be avoided or prevented. (Catechism 2288-2291)

Finally, the sanctity of human life leads to offering care and respect for the dead. The bodies of the dead must be treated with respect and charity, in faith, and hope of the Resurrection. The burial of the dead is a corporal work of mercy; it honors the children of God, who are temples of the Holy Spirit (Catechism 2300)

CHRISTIAN ARE TO RESPECT HUMAN LIFE FROM ITS ORIGIN AT CONCEPTION TO THE NATURAL END OF A PERSON’S LIFE ON EARTH–IT’S A WAY OF LIFE, FROM THE WOMB TO THE TOMB.

Every human life, from the moment of conception until death, is sacred because the human person has been willed for its own sake in the image and likeness of the living and holy God.(Catechism 2319)

___________________________________________________________________________

AGAIN, GO VOTE: THE PEOPLE WE PUT IN OFFICE WILL DECIDE THE LAWS OF THIS COUNTRY, WHICH IN TURN WILL DECIDE IF HUMAN LIFE WILL BE PROTECTED FROM CONCEPTION UNTIL DEATH. And truthfully, right now, there is very little respect for human life in this Country.

God bless you all.

HALLOWED BE THY NAME

THE IMAGES EVOKED BY THE LORD’S prayer vividly illustrate our life. Humanity stands or falls by the things that are mentioned in it. If this is realized we can begin to make progress. If it is not realized, or not taken seriously, we sink and decline. that is the real key to the GRIM PICTURE OF LIFE TODAY. And this phrase, HALLOWED BE THY NAME, teaches us to pray for the worthy ideal for the unassailable, holy, venerated standard. Unless they have something of supreme value, something at the center of their being which they can venerate, human beings gradually deteriorate. Human nature is so constituted that it must have something holy that it can worship, otherwise, it becomes cramped and distorted, and instead of a holy object of veneration something else will take its place…l
The WORD OF GOD should evoke and receive the great veneration this phrase suggests, praise, reverence, awe. This effects the realization of those fundamental categories of life I referred to just now. The NAME OF GOD is the HOLY OF HOLIES, THE CENTRAL SILENCE, THE THING THAT ABOVE ALL OTHERS CALLS FOR HUMBLE APPROACH. We not only ought to believe in the truth at the center of our being, in the purpose of our existence, but we should also bear testimony to this belief by the proper fulfillment of our life’s purpose. We should subjugate everything to this law of holiness and reject everything that does not harmonize with it. GOD, THE GREAT OBJECT OF HUMAN VENERATION, WILL THEN ALSO BE OUR WHOLE LIFE.
By: Father Alfred Delp, S.J. (d1945) was a German Jesuit priest condemned to death by the Nazis in Berlin, Germany.

When I read this I saw our Country today. Is it not true that the farther this Country goes from God the more we sink and decline? Since the majority of the people in this Country do not worship anyone but themselves and anything except what they themselves want, are we not deteriorating? The only solution I can see is more prayer for our Country and it’s people, that they will eventually turn back to God.

PRAYER: When we say the Our Father, we must mean every word: OUR FATHER WHO ART IN HEAVEN, HALLOWED BE THY NAME, Thy Kingdom Come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, lead us not into temptation and deliver us from evil. Amen.

God bless you all, Pray for this Country that it’s people will turn back to Jesus Christ our Lord.
