PRO LIFE -MARCH FOR LIFE

FROM CONCEPTION TO NATURAL DEATH IS THE CRY OF EVERY CATHOLIC AND HOPEFULLY EVERY CHRISTIAN.

THE MARCH FOR LIFE ON FRIDAY, JAN 28, 2017 WAS AGAIN VERY SUCCESSFUL AND VERY ENERGETIC. FOR THE FIRST TIME IN THE ENTIRE 44 YEARS OF THE MARCH, SINCE THE YEAR AFTER ROE VS WADE WAS PASSED THE VICE PRESIDENT OF THE U.S. SPOKE FROM THE STAGE. I DIDN’T HEAR HOW MANY WERE THERE, IT REALLY DOESN’T MATER, THEY MADE THEIR POINT. AND THERE WERE CHILDREN, TEENS, AND ALL AGES OF ADULTS. THERE ARE MORE EVERY YEARS AND THEY COME FROM EVERYWHERE. FOR THE FIRST TIME IN A LONG TIME, THE PRESIDENT AND VICE PRESIDENT ARE PRO LIFE.

A NEW SLOGAN:  ADOPTION NOT ABORTION.

IF ANYONE READING THIS NEEDS HELP OR KNOWS OF SOMEONE THAT NEEDS HELP TELL THEM TO CALL CATHOLIC CHARITIES. They are listed in the phone book. They will have names and addresses of safe places to go for help.  Most neighborhood clinics will have names and addresses.   There are places to get free mammograms. There are places to get free birth control and there are places that will help women to keep their babies, finish school, get a job, or help them put their babies up for adoption. They do not need Planned Parenthood.   I thought the meditation  and prayer below  from the  book: THE MESSAGE OF FATIMA apply.

JESUS, HAVING CONQUERED LIFE WITH DEATH AND SIN WITH LOVE ,appears to the women and his followers at various times and in various ways to deliver a PRO LIFE MESSAGE that goes beyond what this finite existence is able to contain.  Christ’s power is over life and death in this world and in the next!  LOVE is more powerful than death;  LIFE reaches beyond the grave for those who believe. Suffering has saving power.  Penance, and remission of sins in Christ, saves souls.

PRAYER FOR THANKGIVING

Tobit 12:6: THANK GOD! Give him the praise and the glory.  Before all the living, acknowledge the many good things he has done for you, by blessing and extolling His name in song.  Before all men, honor and proclaim God’s deeds, and do not be slack in praising him.

HYMN:

NOW thank we all our God, with heart and hands and voices,

Who wondrous things has done, in whom this world rejoices;

Who from our mother’s arms has blessed us on our way

With countless gifts of love, and still is ours today.

GOD BLESS YOU ALL AND HAPPY THANKSGIVING.

MEDITATION OF THE DAY-WHY THOSE WHO DO THE FATHER’S WILL…

WHY THOSE WHO DO THE FATHER’S WILL ARE JESUS’ MOTHER AND BROTHERS

The first lesson us by Paul is that we are called to the grace of baptism not because of the merits of our good works but solely because of the goodness of God, NOT BECAUSE OF ANY RIGHTEOUS DEEDS WE HAD DONE BUT BECAUSE OF HIS MERCY…Peter and Andrew are called, not from the Temple where they were praying or sacrificing or engaging in works of piety and mercy and love, but called from the sea where they were rowing and diligently plying their trade of catching fish. Fishing requires no special kind of lowliness and virtue.

Moreover, Paul tells us that in baptism a regeneration and renovation takes place through THE BATH OF REBIRTH AND RENEWAL BY THE HOLY SPIRIT, which makes us very like to Christ in our life, our conduct, and our works, because it was to this that we have been predestined.  Consequently, he writes to the Galatians: ALL OF YOU WHO ARE BAPTIZED INTO CHRIST HAVE CLOTHED YOURSELVES WITH CHRIST. To clothe oneself with Christ, however, means to reflect Christ and make him visible in our life and conduct…

If the virtue and righteousness and holiness of the Apostles and all the saints is merely imaginary, does that mean that Christ is, therefore, merely an imaginary Redeemer and Savior?  That Adam and Satan had much more power to destroy than Christ and God have to save?  If the power of the Holy Spirit in the Apostles was only imaginary, how were they able to perform real works of virtue? Can an imaginary or a painted tree bear real fruits?… These are fruits that were truly present in the Apostles… The Apostles and countless martyrs have already laid down their lives for Christ and suffered cruel torments for the sake of righteousness with great patience and strength of soul and constancy and, even more, with love and a spirit of joy…and with a great desire to suffer even much more.

KNOW YOUR WORTH

OK, LADIES, FROM OUR CHURCH BULLETIN:    PROVERBS:::::: I’m here to simply be a messenger from the ONE who created you and I.  God told us that HIS DAUGHTERS are “MORE PRECIOUS THAN JEWELS; And nothing you desire compares with her” {Proverbs 3:15)

NOW THIS APPLIES TO MEN AND WOMEN:

“When you feel unworthy of love, it’s the devil who is putting that thought in your head.  He can tug at your heart strings and make you feel so unworthy, when in reality you’re the most precious thing on this earth!  Satan is at work when you look in the mirror and all you hear is, “you’re not good enough.” But fear not because it’s simply not true!” (quoted from my church bulletin}

There is something I want to add, ladies and gentlemen.  You are made in the image and likes of God. He is with you and in you at all times.  When we talk about love, we are not talking about sex.  Some people now days equate one with the other.  Love is when someone cares more for you than they do for themselves.  Love is like Jesus Christ loves His Church.  Friendship comes before love.  Love comes before marriage and in the old song from the 40’s I think, “First come love, than marriage, then the baby carriage.”  I know this sounds old fashioned, but it has worked well for centuries.  Get to know a person as a friend (this does not include sex, sex clouds the issue of friendship) then if the magic is there, then love will develop.

When you find a person, who you enjoy being with, who enjoys just being with you, BECAUSE YOU ARE YOU, YOU ARE INTERESTING AND FUN, AND FOR NO OTHER REASON EXCEPT THAT PERSON IS HAPPY WITH YOU AND YOU WITH THAT PERSON, then consider that maybe you have found love, maybe even the love of your life.  Then when you have sex, that person will be making love with you, that is a big WITH, not to you.

REMEMBER YOU ARE WORTHY OF TRUE LOVE, AND YOU ARE WORTHY OF MANY TRUE FRIENDSHIPS.  Don’t waste your time with people who only care about you because of sex,  find someone who will give his or her life for you.  That cannot happen if you are not open to friendship because you are tied up with someone who cannot love you the way you deserve.  Remember, especially Ladies You are more precious than jewels, be sure you are being treated that way.

GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

EPIPHANY GRACES

Note: I post these religious pages under Religious Freedom because in some countries, I would not be posting this.

WHAT OTHER REWARD CAN GOD GIVE TO THOSE WHO SEEK HIM, IF NOT to let himself be found?  Religious man strives to see signs of God in the daily experiences of life, in the cycle of the season, in the fruitfulness of the earth and in the movement of the cosmos.  God is light and he can be found also by those who seek with a sincere heart.

An image of this seeking can be seen in the Magi, who were led to Bethlehem by the star (Mt.2:1-12). For them God’s light appeared as a journey to be undertaken, a star which led them on a path of discovery.  The star is a sign of God’s patience with our eyes which need to grow accustomed to his brightness.  Religious man is a wayfarer; he must be ready to let himself be led, to come out of himself and to find the God of perpetual surprises.  This respect on God’s part for our human eyes shows us that when we draw near to God, our human lights are not dissolved in the immensity of his light, as a star is engulfed by the dawn, but shine all the more brightly the closer they approach the primordial fire, like a mirror which reflects light.  Christian faith in Jesus, the one Savior of the world, proclaims that all God’s light is concentrated in him, in his “luminous life” which discloses the origin and the end of history.  There is no human experience, no journey of man to God, which cannot be taken up, illumined, and purified by this light.  The more Christians immerse themselves in the circle of Christ’s light, the more capable they become of understanding and accompanying the path of every man and woman towards God.

Because faith is a way, it also has to do with the lives of those men and women who, though not believers, nonetheless desire to believe and continue to seek.  To the extent that they are sincerely open to love and set out with whatever light they can find, they are already, even without knowing it, on the path leading to faith.  They strive to act as if God existed, at times because they realize how important he is for finding a sure compass for our life in common or because they experience a desire for light amid darkness, but also because in perceiving life’s grandeur and beauty they intuit that the presence of God would make it all the more beautiful. by Pope Francis.

THE MOST HOLY NAME OF JESUS

Today the Church celebrates the Most Holy Name of Jesus.  It is the last day of Christmas before Sunday, when we celebrate the Epiphany. Which is when we celebrate the day the three kings brought gifts to Jesus.  In some parts of the Christian world, kids receive their gifts on this day.

THE LORD JESUS PROMISED, “Whatever you ask in my name, I will do” (Jn 14:13) “You have had yourselves washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Cor 6:11) For there is no “other name under heaven given to the human race by which we are to be saved” (Acts 4:12).  This memorial provides us the chance to live with special attentiveness before the Holy Name. “If you think the name”Jesus” continually, it purges your sin and kindles your heard; it clarifies your soul, it removes anger and does awy with slowness.  It wounds in love and fulfills charity.  It chases the devil and puts out dread.  It opens heaven, and makes you a contemplative.  It puts all vices and phantoms out from the lover: (Richard Rolle).

AS THE POPULAR CHRISTIAN SONG SAYS:  “Just say JESUS”

ADVENT, 2nd week

POEM; So lately sprung from glory,
a shepherd seeks His sheep
Across a desert country
Through lonely rocks and steep.
A rumor fills the valleys;
Glad tidings sweep the plain;
Good news comes from the mountains:
God’s Christ has come to reign.

How beautiful His footsteps
Upon the mountainside.
The King comes for His kingdom,
The Bridegroom for His bride.
How radiant His aspect!
How steady is His gaze!
How silent all rebellion!
How loud the angels’ praise!

PRAYER: GOD OUR FATHER, you sent your Son to lead us in the way of life. As we look forward to his coming in glory, renew our desire to follow in his footsteps, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen
